Satellite TV Brings Movies Into Your Living Room
For some people, relaxing involves sleeping in late on the weekends and cooking a long, delicious feast of eggs, bacon, toast, coffee, and fresh squeezed orange juice. For others, it is curling up and opening up a book and reading for hours on end without interruption or distraction. Maybe your ideal way of relaxing is cracking open the newspaper and reading it piece by piece, section by section, article by article. For a sizeable portion of the population, however, stretching out your legs and lounging back for an afternoon of channel surfing is often just what the doctor ordered when trying to melt away your stress and just unwind from a long day (or week, month or even year!).
There are a number of reasons why some people flock to their high definition television set when they need to relax, but one of the biggest is that with cable and satellite TV allow customers to browse through an oversized selection of movies and essentially turn their living room and bedroom into a stay at home theatre.
To start with, you have a plethora of options at your fingertips no matter what type of connection package you have – even at the most basic level you are able to cruise through dozens of channels, many of which broadcast movies on a regular basis. You can easily schedule a time to catch a flick by checking your TV Guide or your local newspaper to see what movies are airing at what time. Staying in on Friday night just got a whole lot more fun when you consider the fact that you can sit back and enjoy top rate movies from the comforts of your coach or bed.
However, that is truly just the tip of the iceberg. Cable and satellite TV customers can choose from a wide range of options that feed their one and only desire for movies. Often available at a separate price, movie channels such as HBO and Showtime provide customers with an endless string of options as to when and how they watch the movies they want. These movies are shown without commercials and more often than not completely unedited – in direct contrast to movies shown on basic cable which are always interrupted by commercials and are very often edited in some respect.
First and foremost, customers are able to simply click through the different channels to see if there is a movie that they want to watch being shown. However, many of you want to be able to start and stop a movie at your convenience, and not be tied down by the broadcasting decisions of these companies. That is where the On-Demand channels come so nicely into play. These channels allow users to pick movies from a library of available options and start and stop them whenever they like. That way, you are guaranteed a good movie whenever you are in the mood to watch one – and if the phone rings in the middle, you can simply pause your picture and resume it once you have hung the phone back up. With many of these movies being broadcast in HD, your living room will start to look a lot more like a movie theatre – now all you need is a popcorn machine and you’re ready to go!
