These Awesome Sauce burgers have been on repeat at our house It has quickly become our go-to beef burger recipe. It is super simple to make with only a few simple ingredients and tastes AWESOME! Ground beef, hamburger seasoning, honey mustard, teriyaki sauce, and hot sauce. The recipe is very easy to double, triple, or quadruple for a crowd. I make these for all of our cookouts and everyone RAVES about them. One bite and you will know why. SO good!
What is Awesome Sauce?
Awesome sauce is a combination of honey mustard dressing, thick teriyaki sauce, and hot sauce.
The inspiration for this marinade came from one of our favorite sports bars. They had a sandwich on the menu that came with this sauce. I absolutely loved the sauce. I had to know what it was made of. The waitress asked the cook and he said honey mustard, hot sauce, and teriyaki sauce. Easy enough! I whipped up the sauce at home and it was perfect.

How to Make Awesome Sauce Burgers
These hamburgers are very easy to make with only a few simple ingredients. In a small bowl, combine honey mustard dressing, teriyaki sauce, and hot sauce. Set aside. In a medium bowl, gently combine ground beef, hamburger seasoning, and half of the honey mustard mixture. Form the meat into patties. Cook hamburgers until they reach your desired doneness basting with the remaining sauce before removing them from the pan.
Helpful Tips & Frequently Asked Questions
- Do not overwork your ground beef. Make an indentation with your finger in the center to prevent the burger from plumping up in the center while cooking.
- The burgers can be cooked outside on the grill or on the stovetop in a grill pan or cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat.
- If you are cooking them inside, feel free to add a dash of liquid smoke to the hamburger mixture. That will give them the flavor of being cooked outside on the grill without actually cooking them on the grill.
- You can make the burgers ahead of time and refrigerate the patties overnight or freeze them for later.

- Can substitute ground turkey for turkey burgers.
- I use Ken’s Honey Mustard, Sweet Baby Ray’s Teriyaki Sauce, and Frank’s Hot Sauce.

- Top the burgers with your favorite cheese. American, cheddar, and swiss cheese are all delicious.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge.

These burgers taste AWESOME!! Serve the burgers on your favorite buns. We like brioche buns or potato buns. Add all of your favorite toppings and condiments:

- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 Tbps McCormick’s hamburger seasoning
- 2 Tbsp honey mustard dressing
- 2 Tbsp thick teriyaki sauce
- 2 Tbsp hot sauce
